Hello World!

Updated: May 9, 2023

Hello and welcome to my blog! My name is Adrienne and I am a mother of a fantastic little girl and a chartered architect. I have always been passionate about designing beautiful and functional spaces, and I love to share my insights and experiences with others. In this blog, I will write about topics related to architecture, family life, and more. I hope you will enjoy reading my posts and find them useful and possibly even inspiring.

As a mother and an architect, I face many challenges and opportunities every day. Balancing work and family is not easy, but it is rewarding and fulfilling. I believe that being a mother makes me a better architect, and being an architect makes me a better mother. I learn from both roles and apply them to the other. For example, as a mother, I have to be creative, flexible, and resourceful in solving problems and meeting the needs of my child. As an architect, I have to be attentive, analytical, and visionary in creating solutions and delivering projects for clients.

I also think that architecture and motherhood have a lot in common. Both are about creating something meaningful and lasting, something that can improve the quality of life for ourselves and others. Both are about nurturing and caring for something that grows and evolves over time. Both are about expressing ourselves and our values through our actions and choices.

In this blog, I will share with you some of the tips and tricks that I have learned or discovered as a mum. I will also share with you some stories and moments that make me happy, proud, frustrated or amused in both my roles.

I love the challenge and the creativity that comes with my job, but I also know how demanding and stressful it can be. Balancing work and family life is not easy, especially when you have young children who need your attention and care.

That’s why I started this blog as a way to express myself and to document my journey as an architect mum. I want to share with you the joys and the struggles of being a working mum in a creative field, the tips and tricks that help me manage my time and energy, the lessons that I’ve learned along the way, and the projects that I’m proud of or excited about.

I also want to use this blog as a platform to showcase some of the amazing work that other architect mums are doing here in Northern Ireland and around the world. I believe that we can learn a lot from each other and support each other in our careers and our lives. I want to celebrate the diversity and the talent of women in architecture, and to encourage more girls and young women to pursue their dreams in this field.

So, if you’re interested in architecture, design, motherhood, or any combination of these topics, I hope you’ll join me on this journey and enjoy reading my blog. Feel free to leave me a comment or send me a message if you have any questions or suggestions. I’d love to hear from you!

Until next time…
